What to expect from Holywood Cottages & Townhouses?

Holywood Cottages and Townhouses have been providing guests with comfortable, stylish self-catering accommodation in Holywood for over a decade. All our properties have been certified and graded by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and we aim to provide guests with affordable accommodation which is of a very high standard.

We attract guests from all walks of life, and from all around the world. From individuals and groups visiting Holywood for the first time, to local families returning to the area to visit their loved ones, to large corporate bookings, where companies seek to secure first class accommodation for their employees who are working in the area, we strive provide a home from home for our visitors, in comfortable, cosy cottages and houses that are equipped to meet every self-catering need you may have.   We have many regular clients from the film, engineering, and IT industries to name a few, and we have guests stay with us for periods of 2 nights, up to several months. We are proud to welcome returning guests regularly, and really enjoy staying in touch and catching up with our return visitors.

Our style is traditional, with a modern, eclectic twist. We are focused on promoting the local area, and guests will love the stylish décor and local artwork in all our homes. We’ve covered the walls of our houses with local art, which showcases the local area, landmarks and Northern Irish culture – in art which is innovative, thought provoking, historic, humorous and quite simply great to look at. Guests will soon find themselves familiar with many of the landmarks featured on our walls – perhaps they may even give travellers a few ideas about how to plan their trip!

Are you open all year round?

We have guests visiting all year round, and guarantee that you will be very comfortable whatever the season. Some houses have larger outdoor space than others, but all have access to a private BBQ area, which is particularly nice in the warm, sunny, summer months. At Christmas time we love to get the decorations out, and all guests benefit from a welcome pack on arrival throughout the year, so that they can get the kettle on as soon as they have checked in.

Can I bring pets to Holywood Cottages & Townhouses

We love animals and are pet friendly. We know that beloved pets are part of the family and that travelling without them is frequently not an option. We do have rules regarding pets staying in our homes, but they are reasonable, and guest’s dogs are very welcome and are often left a little welcome pack of their own!

Are Holywood Cottages & Townhouses close to the city or town?

All of our houses are located within easy walking distance of Holywood town centre, the stunning coastal path, and a short bus / train / taxi ride from Belfast, Bangor, the George Best City and International airports and ferry terminals.

Can we rent one of the properties for a short term stay or longer?

If you are travelling with e.g. another family, or are part of a large group, many of our houses are located near to each other, so guests sometimes spread their bookings between 2 or more houses. If you want to know which houses are close to one another for large group bookings, just give us a call and we will be happy to advise you.

Are there any changes since Covid-19 when staying at the properties?

ADDRESSING THE RISKS OF COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS FOR OUR GUESTS

 

We want you to have a wonderful time in our self-catering accommodation, exploring picturesque Holywood and it’s scenic coastline, and venturing further afield into Belfast and visiting other fascinating towns, villages and tourist attractions in Northern Ireland. We have all been learning how to adjust to live safely with the threat of Covid-19 in our communities. Now that Lockdown has eased, and people are free to travel again, we want to ensure that you can stay in our cottages and townhouses with confidence, and that we create a relaxing, comfortable, stress-free and most importantly, safe environment, for you and your family. To achieve this, we have reviewed how we operate and drawn up guidelines which we are confident will carry us, virus free, into the future, in line with current legislation and recommended guidelines, specifically https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-advice-for-accommodation-providers, and Hospitality Ulster Guidelines. Listed below are some of the changes we have made to keep you safe:

 

KEY SAFES & INTERACTION WITH GUESTS

We now operate key safes for all properties. There will be no need for us to interact with our guests, unless of course you want us to. We live locally and are always on hand to meet you if required (wearing PPE). We will observe social distancing guidelines at all times. Instead, we will give you a unique code for the property key safe, attached to the wall beside the front door of each house, in order that you can check yourselves in. The safes themselves, and the keys inside, will be sanitised before each guest checks in. Please note, that our check out deadline of 11am and check in time of post 2pm, have not changed. These times must be strictly observed to allow sufficient time for our team to ensure a rigorous clean between check-ins. Where possible same day check-ins will be avoided. Household operating instructions will be displayed on the kitchen wall, to avoid the use of manuals.

 

HAND SANITISER, SOAP AND CLEANING MATERIALS

In addition to complimentary sterile toiletries, we now provide cleaning materials including disinfectant spray and bleach, hand soap and hand sanitiser for the use of our guests. We urge all guests to wash their hands frequently, especially on entering the property. Plenty of fresh towels, and disposable towels will be provided.

 

LINEN & TOWELS

All linen is washed in a hot steam wash, tumble dried and stored in a designated airing facility for 72 hours before being used. Houses are stripped in their entirety, whether beds / rooms are used or not.

 

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

We have removed many unnecessary decorative items, to reduce the risk of guests touching e.g., ornaments, pictures etc. All our appliances, such as kettles, microwaves, toasters, hairdryers, bin lids, televisions etc will be sanitised carefully and to rigorous standards.

 

CLEANING

Our cleaners will wear PPE when cleaning our properties and will pay close attention to all surfaces and areas of the home. They have been specifically asked to pay particular attention to high traffic and communal areas and parts of the house which come into frequent contact with guests. We are aware that light switches, coat pegs, hangers, stair banisters, window handles, cupboard / appliance doors, taps, toilet flushers, sinks, faucet handles, remote controls and door handles are all touched frequently by guests and these will be disinfected with an appropriate strength disinfectant (minimum 70% alcohol), prior to Guests checking in. Our cleaners will use disposable cleaning materials and these, like waste, will be bagged and disposed off appropriately. Windows and doors will remain open during cleaning to allow for ventilation.

Do the properties have wifi and appliances?

We think we have our kitchens equipped with every utensil / piece of equipment a visitor could wish for – but if there’s an item we’ve missed, guests just need to let us know and we will have it delivered. Our houses have dishwashers and washer / tumble dryers to make your stay as relaxing and “work-free” as possible. Linen and towels are provided in all our homes, and items like ironing boards, hairdryers, washer / tumble dryers all come as standard. Cots and highchairs are available on request. All houses have Wi-Fi some have DVD players / XBOX / book library and games selection for the entertainment of guests and children. We also provide information on local restaurants, amenities, entertainment and services in the area, with contact numbers to make your stay as easy possible. Our houses all have plenty of full length mirrors for people getting ready for special events such as weddings and family celebrations, and our mattresses and linen are hotel quality to ensure that you get a comfortable nights sleep and are ready to explore our lovely surroundings feeling refreshed and relaxed.

How much is it to rent a Cottage or Townhouse?

Prices range from £90 per night to £120 per night depending on the house, with weekly discounts given for stays of one week or longer. Please contact us for further details.

About Your Booking

How do I make a booking?

You can check availability with us directly through our contact page and we are also listed on airbnb.co.uk

When you book with us directly we can telephone you and go over any requirements you may have, we are personable people and will get in touch with you to help you through the booking. We want to make sure your stay with us is as pleasant as possible.

What time is check in and check out?

Check in is any time from 2pm on your day of arrival and check out by 11am on the day of departure. If you need to check in earlier than 2pm, please do ask, as we will always try to accommodate early check ins and late check outs if we can. Sometimes this is impossible due to other guests arriving – however if we can we will! Guests staying longer than a week can expect a weekly service and linen / towel change. All houses are professionally cleaned prior to each check in, and your house will be sparkling on arrival!

If you have any special requirements in relation to e.g. young children, elderly guests, or people coping with disabilities, please do ask if your need any other information regarding our houses. Some are level access, whilst others have one or more flights of stairs. Some have walk in showers, whilst others have showers over the bath. We want to help you plan for every eventuality, and welcome any queries you may have.

How do I cancel my booking?

Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check -in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.

Can I book more than one property at a time?

Is there a minimum stay at the Cottages or Townhouses?

Yes, we have a minimum 2 night stay policy at any of the properties.

All properties are £100 per night apart from 7 Park Drive which is £90 per night on minimum stays.

All our properties are from £550 per week apart from 7 Park Drive which is £500 per week.
